Hello, I’m Lela Mays — a creative writer and storyteller with a Master’s degree in Film & Media Studies.

My love for storytelling has always been fueled by the worlds I discover through film, television, and books. Whether I’m getting lost in a fascinating story, exploring memorable characters, or finding inspiration in everyday life, I’m constantly drawn to the power of words and imagination.

Poetry has become one of my favorite creative outlets — a space where I can explore emotions, ideas, societal concepts, experiences, and whatever else happens to be living in my mind.

About Me - Education & Creative Journey

After graduating with a degree in Human Development, I spent much of 2020 reflecting on what I truly wanted to pursue. During that unforgettable year, I found myself becoming more drawn to film, television, literature, and the many ways stories can shape how we see the world.

I also discovered a deeper love for writing and realized I had a natural ability to turn thoughts and emotions into words. That creative spark inspired me to return to school, where I continued studying English and ultimately earned my Master’s degree in Film & Media Studies.

Since then, storytelling has remained at the center of my creative journey — whether through poetry, creative writing, film, television, or other forms of media.

Today, I’m continuing to learn more about the film and media industry as I work toward building a career within it — and, one day, making my own mark.
